Proverbs 20:22 Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord (Romans 12:19). You are not God. God does not need you to be going around repaying evil to everyone who does evil to you. Instead, God desires that […]

1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long,
Love is patient. A beautiful example of this principle is found in the story of Jacob and Rachel. We are told in scripture that Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her. (Genesis 29:20).
We live in […]

Lamentations 3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

Lamentations 3:25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
The words wait and seeking do not seem like they belong in the same passage. A very quick glance at this passage would cause one to scratch their head and wonder what this verse means. Wait typically means […]

Psalms 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake.
God is willing to restore you, but the real question today is whether you are willing to be restored? You have sinned and fallen short of HIS perfect will for your life but God is ready to bring you back into HIS arms. Are you willing to wait on HIM? Are you willing to follow HIS leading?
You are like a sheep and the Lord is your shepherd. If you desire to not lack provision, than you must be willing to lie down in the place that the Lord has put you. If you desire the Lord to restore you, than you must be willing to follow HIS leading. You do not have to choose to follow the Good Shepherd. Instead you can be like the lost sheep that went astray. However, the Good Shepherd will be looking for you and will be willing to restore you if you will but be willing to follow HIM.

Acts 19:10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
Paul had felt led of the Lord to preach the good news in Asia but the Lord stopped him. Paul understood correctly that it was Gods will to preach in Asia, but he was also careful to ensure that he did Gods will in Gods timing. When God finally released Paul to preach in Asia, over the course of two years, all the Jews and Greeks heard the message God had placed on Pauls heart.
Pauls message began with twelve men who had received the baptism of John but had not received the Holy Ghost. From here Paul started teaching in the synagogue and then teaching daily in a school. God gave Paul the ability to heal the sick and cast out devils so then the people started coming to Paul in order to be healed. God opened up the doors for Paul to share the gospel with all of Asia and Paul did not have to travel.

Genesis 21:3-4 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
It has been a year since Gods last recorded conversation with Abraham and it had been ten years since God made a covenant with Abraham. When God made a covenant with Abraham, he told Abraham that, Sarahs son should be called Isaac. In addition, a part of the covenant between Abraham and God was that all of his seed was to be circumcised on the eighth day. Ten years after God made a covenant with Abraham and left specific direction for Abraham to follow, Abraham demonstrated his faith by obeying.

Genesis 16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
Abraham may have been the father of faith, but he was still a man who fell short of the perfect will of God. Four times God came to Abraham and told Abraham that he was going to be a father of a great nation. Abraham had received the word of God and he believed. On the fourth occasion when God renewed HIS promise to Abraham, Abraham even asked God to prove the promise and God did. Nonetheless, Abraham was overwhelmed by the impossibility of Gods promise and as such, he found a way that he could make the promises of God happen in his own timing.

Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, and thy exceeding great reward.
God came to Abraham a fourth time to remind Abraham that he is going to be a father of a great nation and that his children were going to inherit the land. However, this time, Abraham did not simply hear the words of God, but he questioned Gods promises because he had no children. Abraham asked if his servant Eliezer was to be his heir since he was born of his house. However, God rejected Abrahams solution to the impossible situation that Sarah could not conceive and said that Abraham would have numerous decedents and that they would inherit the promise land.

James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Joy! Count it all joy! How am I supposed to be cheerful, have a calm delight, and have gladness in my life when I face temptation? God dont you think that you are being a little demanding to insist that I face my trials with joy?
God gave you a commandment in how you are to live your life. However, HE followed it up with an explanation. God desires that we learn to have a calm delight in HIM as we go through temptations. The reason we are to be cheerful when we go through adversity is because we know that God is working through us. We are able to have gladness because this trial that is before us will enable us to learn patience.
