Proverbs 28:5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
Seek and you shall find. It is not always easy to seek the Lord, but the rewards of understanding the will of God will always be worth the effort. Just as a gold miner must actively seek for gold in […]

Proverbs 22:12 The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.
The knowledge of the ways of the Lord are preserved from generation to generation. How many kings have tried to destroy Christianity? How many rulers have attempted to get rid of religion? Ever since the resurrection of Jesus, there […]

Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
You must understand that God can do what you cannot do. When you are in a position of being under the authority of someone else, you may or may not be able to […]

Proverbs 11:2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
Adam and Eve were proud, they chose to trust in their own senses rather than believe that which God had instructed them. As a result of their sin, shame entered the world. Prior to sin entering the world, we know that Adam […]

Proverbs 6:17 A proud look,
In this passage, Solomon is going through a list of seven abominations unto the Lord. The first item in this list of abominations is pride. God hates pride in our lives. As Christians, this list of seven items is readily available to us, all we have to do is open up […]

Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
God told us in the book of 2 Peter that we are to diligently add knowledge to our life. In this verse, we see the source of knowledge that God desires that you obtain. Knowledge comes from God. God is the […]

Acts 12:23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
The people of Tyre and Sidon came to Herod and they said that his voice was that of a god and not of a man. Herod enjoyed […]

Acts 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we are all witnesses.
Peter is preaching on the day of Pentecost. In this passage we see that Peter is sharing with the multitude his testimony that God has given him. The testimony is simple; he has seen Jesus raised from the dead. It is a simple […]

I Corinthians 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
In Second Peter, we are commanded to add knowledge to our lives but in this passage we see that knowledge makes one proud. Some would say that the Bible is contradicting itself. However, […]

Psalms 36:2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. In this passage we see an individual who constantly is flattering himself. Why would one flatter themselves? Hitler once said that if you tell a lie loud enough […]

Psalms 27:11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Have you ever prayed to God and requested that HE show you HIS will for your life? Throughout scripture, God promises to show you the way if you have applied yourself to developing certain godly character in […]

Daniel 3:17-18 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Nebuchadnezzar made a golden image that was approximately 90 feet tall. He ordered that upon the sound of the music playing, everyone was to bow down to the golden image. Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah refused to bow down to the image as they were ordered. The king was going to give Daniels three friends a second chance at bowing down to his golden image. However, when Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah told the king that they were not going to bow down to a false god the second chance was taken away. The king commanded that the fiery furnace be made seven times hotter.

Daniel 2:16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would show the king the interpretation.
Nebuchadnezzar had a dream. He called his magicians, astrologers, the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans and requested that they tell him the meaning of his dream. Nebuchadnezzar refused to tell the dream because he had forgotten it. All the men who the king had asked to tell him the dream insisted that if the king told them his dream, then they would be able to interpret the dream. Because these men could not tell him his dream, he made a decree to kill all the wise men. Daniel and his three friends were included in this group.

II Chronicles 14:11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.
Asa had an army of five hundred and eighty thousand men. However, he was going against Zerah of Ethiopia who had one million men and three hundred chariots. Before Asa went to battle he cried out to God and asked God to deliver him from the larger army. God heard Asas prayer and he went before Asa and destroyed the Ethiopians.

Hebrews 11:34a Quenched the violence of fire,
Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah had the difficult choice; bow down and worship a god made by mans hands or be thrown into a fiery furnace. These men chose to trust God and told Nebuchadnezzar that God could save them from the fire. Nebuchadnezzar threw them into the fire and the fire did not destroy them.
By faith they trusted in God and they were saved. Daily you make choices that affect your life and the lives of those around you. Your choice is probably not bow down or be killed. Nonetheless, every day you choose how to spend each second of your day. You can pray for the needs of others or pray for yourself. You can choose to share Christ with the cashier or you can remain silent. You can choose to encourage someone or you can spend the time entertaining yourself.
