Job 14:16 - NUMBEREST MY STEPS
Job 14:16 For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
God is not surprised about the day that you die. God is looking down from above and HE knows what you are going to do even before you know how you are going to respond. God knows your thoughts, your words, and your actions. There is nothing that happens to you that HE is not aware of.
When the nation of Israel was wondering in the wilderness and they ran out of water, God knew their problem. God had already prepared a solution for them before they even knew that there was a possibility that they would be thirsty.
During the time of Elijah, there had been a drought for over three years. While the nation of Israel was hungry and thirsty, God knew that after HE showed HIS power, that HE would be brining a cloud the size of a fist of a man that would end the drought. God knew the solution before the drought even began.
When Peter and the disciples were fishing all night and they had not caught a single fish, God knew where the fish were. God knew that when the disciples cast their nets on the other side of the boat that they would bring in a catch of fish that would exceed the disciples wildest imagination.
When Jabez came before the Lord and asked the Lord to bless him and enlarge his borders, God knew that HE was going to answer Jabez’ prayer. Jabez may not have known what the Lord was going to do, but Jabez did. It was God who prompted Jabez to pray for a blessing upon his life and it was God who made sure that the prayer was answered so that we all can learn from it today.
When God told Abraham to sojourn in the land, God knew every step that Abraham was going to make even though Abraham had never seen the land he was about to sojourn in. Abraham was obeying God by going where he had never been before, but God was with him every step of the way.
God saw when Achan sinned and took things that belonged unto the Lord. God saw when David sinned and killed an innocent man so that he could marry his wife. God saw when Miriam sinned by thinking more highly of herself then she ought. God sees all and HE knows all.
We serve an all knowing God. Just because we do not see HIM like we see our best friend, it does not mean that HE does not see us. Have you ever played a game of peek-a-boo with a baby? The baby covers her eyes with a blanket and you make some kind of comment about how you cannot see her. In reality, you see the baby and just because she cannot see you does not mean that you cannot see her. Sometimes this is the way we think about God, just because we do not see HIM, we assume that HE cannot see us.
If we cannot see God watching our every step and taking care of us, then we need to start paying more attention to what God is doing around us. Be patient, and understand that just because you do not see God, it does not mean that HE does not exist. Turn your eyes unto God, learn to see God every step of the way. God is with you and HE desires to make HIMSELF known unto you if only you will open your eyes unto HIM.
